The home of flamenco, orange trees and the Real Alcázar palace.
Seville, the capital of Andalusia, is a city of tiled courtyards, orange trees and bell towers. Its cathedral is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, and you climb the Giralda, its former minaret, by a series of ramps rather than steps.
Next door, the Real Alcázar is a royal palace still in use, with Mudéjar halls and gardens that appeared in Game of Thrones. Across the river, the Triana district is known for its ceramics and flamenco.
Summer afternoons are very hot, so spring and autumn are the best times for walking the old streets.
