Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, was founded in 1727 and its old walled city is painted in a soft pink. The walled city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Hawa Mahal, with its many small windows, is its best known building.

Climb up to Amber Fort on the hill above the city, visit the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar observatory, and shop for textiles and jewellery in Johari Bazaar. Jaipur is one point of the Golden Triangle with Delhi and Agra.
